Crafting Materials

Crafting allows you to boost the power of your items and add abilities that support your skills and Builds. All crafting requires different materials, some of those are crafted, some are salvaged by breaking down items but many are found in different areas of the game.

Where to use Crafting Materials

Metal and Precious Ore - Used at the Blacksmith.
Plants - Used at the Alchemist to craft Potions, Elixirs, and Incencse.
Monster Parts - Used at the Alchemist.
Skins - Used at the Blacksmith.
Salvaged Materials - Used at the Blacksmith and Occultist.

Crafting Materials

Metal and Precious Stones

Ore is used by the Blacksmith and Jeweler to upgrade weapons, armor and jewelry. The ore can be mined from Ore Veins at the sides of roads, particularly at the foot of ridges or cliffs. Less reliable sources are chests and reward caches from completing side quests.

The Obducite, Ingolith and Neathiron are exclusively found in The Pit and are needed for the endgame Masterworking performed by the Blacksmith.

Iron Chunk	Normal	Metal used for improving weapons and jewelry. A common, dark ore that while heavy results in clean, useful metal and used by artisans throughout Sanctuary.	Found in veins nearly everywhere.	-

Silver Ore - Archive	Magic	Rare metal used for improving weapons and jewelry. Silver is prized by artisans for both its beauty and potency against dangerous creatures throughout Sanctuary.	Found in veins nearly everywhere.	10 Iron Chunk 200 Gold
Scattered Prism	Legendary	Scattered Prisms are used exclusively in adding Sockets into items at the Jeweler.	Most often dropped from World Bosses, regular bosses and Elites. Less often they can be looted from Treasure Goblins or salvaged from Legendary items.

Monster Parts

Monster parts are used by the Alchemist to create Elixirs and Incense.

Crushed Beast Bones	Magic	Within the bones of wild creatures dwells a raw potency used by Alchemists to enhance physical properties through Elixirs.	Found by killing beasts and animals such as Bison, as well as werecreatures.
Demon's Heart	Magic	Long exposure to the walking dead imbues this dust with their inverse vitality, used in necromatic alchemies at the Alchemist.	Found in the bodies of demons such as Fallen, Marauders, Goatmen and Succubi.
Grave Dust	Magic	Long exposure to the walking dead imbues this dust with their inverse vitality, used in necromatic alchemies at the Alchemist.	Found in the bodies, bones, or cerements of the undead such as Skeletons, Zombies, Wraiths, Ghosts and Vampires.
Paletongue	Magic	The lies spouted by particularly black-hearted humans rarely manifest in turning their tongues a milky white. Used in the crafting of potions at the Alchemist.	Found in the mouths of evil humans such as Cultists, Bandits, Ghouls and Cannibals. Chests.

Plants

Plants are used by the Alchemist who uses them to make you Elixirs and Incense as well as upgrade your Health Potions.

Fiend Rose	Rare	An exceptionally hard to find herb. Found during the Helltide, when Sanctuary gives way to Hell's influence. Only mostly toxic in spite of its beauty, but still regarded a peerless catalyst by alchemists.	Helltides

Both these are used at the Blacksmith to improve armor.

These materials are used mainly by the Blacksmith but the Occultist also use a couple of them.

Forgotten Soul	Rare	Found in Tortured Gifts during Helltides in World Tiers and occasionally fund from other sources. Used to improve Sacred and Ancestral items at the Blacksmith.	Helltide Ore veins. Whisper Caches. Elite drop. Salvage Legendaries.
Sigil Powder	Rare	The Occultist will salvage this from Nightmare Sigils and then use it to craft more Nightmare Sigils. A mysterious powder that can be compressed into relics inviting peril for greater challenges and rewards.	Occultist salvaging nightmare sigils
Veiled Crystal	Rare	Salvaged from rare weapons and armor at the Blacksmith, and used to upgrade them there too. Occultists use these crystals to Enchant items. Alchemists also use them in the creation of Incense.	Elite monsters, Legion Events, Whisper Cache, Salvaging Rare and Legendary items.
